Progress Pics

Here is the second progress pic for the Chrysanthemum painting I'm doing. I'm trying something a little different with this painting. I am hearkening back to my acrylic days and putting down layers of thin glazes in an attempt to create depth.

As usual I have several paintings going at once. Here are some progress pics of a hollyhock I'm also working on.

Jeremy Lipking

So last weekend Mary and I flew out to see the new Jeremy Lipking show at Arcadia Gallery. I was not disappointed. First of all Jeremy's work was exquisite. Just inspiring. As I have said many times it was Jeremy's work that inspired me to start painting with oils and expand my subject matter.
Second we had an opportunity to meet Jeremy and his beautiful family. This was a great thrill for me. I just wished I had an opportunity to talk with him longer.

Chrysanthemums

So as usual I have several paintings going on at once and the season being what it is my subject matter is flowers.
I recently completed a quick painitng of some mums we have at the house. I used only a painting knife to complete it. This was a fun piece.
I have also started a larger studio painting of the same Chrysanthemums. I will post newer pics as the painting progresses.
